CHILD/YOUTH PROGRAM
FULL YEAR AND SESSIONAL CLASSES
Our comprehensive Child and Youth Program offers young dancers training in both the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (I.S.T.D.) and the Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D.) methods of Ballet training, providing the student with a solid understanding of classical technique.
Along with their Ballet classes students participate in high-energy Jazz/Modern classes, which explore the diverse styles of Jazz and Modern techniques, incorporating the I.S.T.D. Modern Syllabus to help students develop a firm foundation for safe and fun movement. Additional classes offered for our Child and Youth dancers include Tap and Acro.
Technical elements, rhythmical footwork and creative choreography are taught in our upbeat Tap classes. Acro is a fusion of dance and acrobatic movement and is a great way for dancers to learn how to utilize their upper bodies, learn weight-bearing exercises, partnering skills and flexibility training.
Our Acro classes focus on technique and safety, always ensuring students are working at an appropriate level.
All Full-Year students will perform in the Year End Recital and Sessional students will perform in the Sessional Showcase.
